A synthesis of classical sukiya-zukuri proportions with raw brutalist materiality. Water reflects against dark textured basalt planes, dissolving the boundaries between interior tatami living spaces and exterior bamboo courtyards.
Post-tensioned 200mm thin concrete roof planes float above sliding shoji-inspired structural glass, creating infinite horizontal vistas into private forested grounds.
